IDE cables are known for blocking cool air going into the rear end of the PC efficiently. So tha PC manufacturers rounded the middle part of them to reduce that degree of blocking. But only few motherboards come with those cables. Others still use the normal IDE cables. You know, with some patience, you can make your own rounded cables. But do this at your own risk. Don't hold me responsible if you damage your IDE cable.

I could do it to a 40-wire cable. But I couldn't find a sleeve to bundle the stripes and when I taped them, it was hard to bend. If I could find a sleeve, I would do it.
