LTTE terrorist leaders have urged all Tamils in Vanni to join the Tigers in fighting the Sri Lankan security forces.
Ex-police constable B Nadesan, now head of the LTTE's so-called political wing, K. V. Balakumaran, another prominent Tiger and Thamilini, head of the LTTE Women's Wing made this appeal at a public rally in Kilinochchi.
To build up the sagging morale of Tiger cadres and the loss of people's faith in the Tigers, Nadesan recalled the earlier LTTE victories at Mullaithivu military complex (1996), LTTE's resistance to the Security Forces 'Jeyasikuru military campaign' (1997 and 1998) and the three 'Unceasing Waves' operations in 1999.
Nadesan apparently has taken strength from Indian National Security Advisor, M.K Narayan's comments to The New Strait Times that the LTTE cannot be defeated as long as they have people support and stressed that that "no superpower can suppress a liberation struggle with people power."
"The Tamil liberation movement and the Tamil people cannot be separated. The people and LTTE are one and the same," he stressed in an attempt to revive the idea that the Tigers are still the "Tamil people's sole representative.".
