Poll: From what sinhala people originate ? (post your own view point)

This is a very popular topic of debate in nowadays. Although experts on the fields have different ideas, general public still believes in the old way .... so could we please know what you beleive ....

1. Sinhalease originated from the local humanoids, like ones found in Balangoda caves.

2. They are descendants of the remnants of king Ravana's people.

3. They came to SL with king Vijaya, our first king

4.Sinhalease race was born at the summit held by the king Pandukabhaya, after his victory. It included all naga, deva and yaksha clans. And of course the survivors of sinha clan.

5. Sinhalese people came here with the buddhism. Tamils were here first! :lol:

6. They originate from veddas. Veddas who haven't become civilized, still live in the jungle.:)

As my view point, there's two correct answers ... but one is partially correct

පෙරකී අනන්‍යතාවලට වැදගත් කමක් දිය යුතුවන්නේ සමස්ත තත්ත්වයන් සැලකිල්ලට ගෙන ඒ සමස්ත තත්ත්වය තුළ ඒයට හිමිවිය යුතු ප්‍රමාණයටයි. ඒ වගේම 'ජාතිය' 'ආගම' වැනි අනන්‍යතා පිළිබඳ අද මෙන් තද එල්බ ගැනීමක් අතීතය පුරා එකම ආකාරයට පැවතියා කියා මා විශ්වාස කරන්නේත් නෑ.

එසේ එල්බ ගැනීම කෙරෙහි යම් ජන කොටසක් යොමුවන්නේ එකී ජනකොටස වෙත එල්ලවන/එල්ලවී තිබෙනවා යැයි හිතන අභියෝගයන්ට දක්වන ප්‍රතිචාරයක් හැටියටය යනු මගේ හැඟීමයි. ඒ ඒ කාලයන්හි ඇතිවන අභියෝගයන්හි සවභාවය එකම ආකාර නොවන නිසා හැම කල්හි එකම ආකාරයේ ජාතිය පිළිබඳ හැගීමක් තිබුණා යැයි සිතිය නොහැකියි. ඒ වගේම කාලය හරහා අතීතයට යන්නට යන්නට ජාතිය, භාෂාව වැනි දේ පදනම් ව බිහිවන අනන්‍යතා ක්‍රමයෙන් බොඳව යනවා. උදාහරන ලෙස බුද්ධකාලීන භාරතය තුල ජාතිය කියා හැන්දින්විය හැකි අනන්‍යතාවක් පේන්නේ නෑ. තිබෙන්නේ වර්ණ කියා හැඳින්වෙන අනන්‍යතාවක්. එය භාෂාව මත හෝ ආගමික විස්වාසවල වෙනස්කම් මත ඇති වූවක් ද නොවේ.

අනෙක් අතට ජාතීන් අනුව මිනිසුන් වර්ගකොට ලැයිස්තු ගත කිරීම සිදුවන්නේ බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය පාලන සමයේ ඔවුන්ගේ පරිපාලන වුවමණා මත.

ඒ නිසා අද අප අතර තිබෙන ආකාරයේ ජාතිය පිළිබඳ අදහසක් අදට වඩා සාකළ්‍යයෙන් ම වෙනස් පරිසරයන් පැවති අතීතය තුළ දැකීමට උත්සාහ කිරීම ද ක්‍රම විරෝධී බව මාගේ හැඟීමයි....

By "Sinhalease" i meant the origins of sinhala race (when the people started calling them sinhala) not the biological or linguistic origins

It is true that sinhala race is mix and, above biological and linguistic origins cannot be concentrated in to one incident in time

there were civilized people here even before king vijaya arrived. I think sinhalese are a mixture of those people and those came with king vijaya
