Vesuvius is just East of Naples, about 142 miles from Rome. Vesuvio, Italian name, partially destroyed Pompeii in 79 AD and had done significant damage to other "towns" in previous eruptions.

Thousands of people were killed during the eruptions of Mount Vesuvius (Italy). ...But that time population was less, But now population is more!
