I did this SCJP exam in 2001 and SCWCD in 2002. Those days SCJP was very difficult but SCWCD was not that hard. I did SCBCD too. Prepered for SCMAD too but never took the exam. I did all these exams by self-study. I never went to classes or courses to take these certifications. There are many free resources in the internet you can use to prepare for these exams. Main thing for SCJP is you should really learn the rules and syntax of Java like a compiler/interpreter. And you should do lot of mock exams. Best place to go for preperation is

That forum has all info about sun certification study guides/mock exams/tips, etc. You can discuss with many others who are taking sun certifications.

so you can do dis exam even from self studding.... in here nothing personal k brother... i jst openly discussed with u.... i jst wanted to let u think abut wht u r doing.... there r no rules saying that u must do dis and that to do SCJP if u dnt hv a degree :)..... keep that in mind :D...

Having a degree is a good solid foundation. Its better to complete a degree and take these exams as additional qualifications.
