Then, there is no way. Gmail only has labels.

The old way
You create an elaborate filing system of folders and subfolders, then decide where to file a single message.

The Gmail way
Instead of folders, Gmail uses labels to give you the functionality of folders, but with more flexibility. In Gmail, a single conversation can have several labels, so you're not forced to choose one particular folder for each message you receive. That way, if a conversation covers more than one topic, you can retrieve it with any of the labels that you've applied to it. And, of course, you can always search for it.

I don't have that problem. I use an email client. I can have folders in it.

In Gmail, you can't create new folders. Instead you create labels, which you then attach to individual conversations. The good thing about labels is that multiple labels can be tagged on a mail, something just not possible with the folder concept of Hotmail and others. The labels are shown at the left side; attach them by using the combo box on top. You can also create filters to automatically label incoming mail.

1. Click on "Create a filter" at the top of Gmail.
2. Enter whatever filter criteria you want to filter mail on and click "Next Step".
3. Check the box called "Skip the inbox", this moves the message out of your inbox.
4. Check the box called "Apply the Label", and select a label from the dropdown to create a new one.
5. Click "Create Filter".

DONE!

Now all new mail matching the criteria you entered will be "moved" from the inbox and into the label you selected. One drawback is that you apparently can't retroactively apply filters to messages already in your inbox. However, once you've manually moved any existing mail, you should be all set!
