Has anyone who's using Vista felt that when you are moving data, the PC gets a bit slow: explorer windows don't come up as soon as they are clicked etc.?

Every person who told me that such a problem was there in 2003 Server, also say the same about Vista. The difference is, in Vista it's a bit better. But none of them can match XP's IO performance while multitasking.

XP is old no?
Besides, there are few things that I want in Vista.
1. My motherboard's SATA works only in Vista (otherwise I have to use IDE emulation)
2. My flash drive supports ReadyBoost so I would like to use it
3. To get Vista's performance in XP, I have to disable pagefile. Vista don't usually slow down as XP
4. Vista's GUI is so fast

I don't upgrade that often. I buy new parts, but hardly replace a component. (i.e. throw it away and buy a new one for it)

I replace faulty components - but not often.

What does this have to do with Vista?

Well, it was the same with XP. I had it even before Microsoft released it.

Those days I was on dialup and was using internet with someone else's password  I didn't have my own connection. I also got the modem from a cousin.

You know what? The modem didn't have drivers in XP. I gave up internet for XP!!! I didn't want to use Windows 98 and XP in dual boot. I had to choose between Internet and XP. I chose XP. It's pretty much the same with Vista now. But this time, I don't have to give up my internet connection. But if I had to, then I would choose Internet this time - at least until I bought a router which doesn't require any drivers.
