how to resize desktop icon

Open up registry editor then navigate to the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

In the right side of the panes you want to edit the following value: Shell Icon Size

The value for it is pixels so 16 will be smaller icons while 32
will be larger.

Reboot for the change to take affect.

Why worry so much?

Go to Display Properties -> Appearance [tab] -> Advance [button]
Select "Icon" from Item [dropdown] & change the size!!
