Im running ubuntu 8.04 and i need a download accelerator for it; i tried to download prozilla it said that some dependency was not satisfiable ....what does that mean? I tried curl too the same thing came up. Can you pls give me links to a GUI based debian downloader?

You get KGet (KDE front end for wget) , gwget (Gnome frontend for wget), axel-kapt (QT based gui for axel)
All of these are in the Debian repositories.

Use downloadthemall with Flashget.
You can get the same functionality of a download accelerator in Windows.
