I have ran through many of them but i now use only this thing.Its IMTOO mpeg encoder.It has almost all video format conversion to any other format.But for special types u will need CODECs too.
it has a simple interface just dragn'drop or if u want advanced there is a property box like in VB there,u can adjust from it:) :) .

Im not sure about wht u tell mikey,i mean it has all other softwares in IMTOO like 3gp con.,mp4 con.,flv con.,like.And it is just for converting through formats.It has the ability to convert in to apple ipod and creative zen too.so it is like full version to me.I'd like to know about the full version of it and please post the link..thanx.

From my experience I use several tools for various formats like....
mpg > avi (divx,xvid,3ivx...etc) - Virtual Dub (is the best! :yes: , Freeware, I use this mostly)
avi > mpg - AVS video convertor and someother tools
avi > flv - Quicktime, Flash
