I have installed Ubuntu Linux 8.04 on my pc using wubi-installer.

when i restarted after installation, it's just goto a dos prompt saying:

BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian xxxxxxx)
initramfs:

What does this mean?

I had gone through so many forums also .... no proper solution yet ...
Let me hav your thoughts !!!

Thanks in Advance

sorry i didn't get you
the bootloader loads the kernel image to memory so that it can boot in to ubuntu. Right now that's not happening.
Give details of the computer you got there.
What is the primary partition, what's the FS type, where is ubuntu installed, etc. Details like that.

the error you get ins a known bug with wubi
see here : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/199536

That thread has a possible solution as well.

Youre MBR should be awkward like corrupted; windows runs well with damaged MBRs but most of the bootloaders fail to read from damaged or incomplete MBR. Select try Grub and LILO if the prob stays the same try to rewrite MBR[linux installation CD has utilities for this] once my MBR got corrupted and i rewrote it but it consumed alot of time to learn about those things dont give up tho search in forums gud luk
