(Reuters) -- A rebel Tamil Tiger aircraft dropped bombs near oil storage tanks in the Sri Lankan capital on Tuesday after another raid 250 km north targeting a military base, military sources said.

"The aircraft dropped bombs in Colombo near the oil storage tanks," a military source said on condition of anonymity. Another source confirmed it and said it was under investigation.

According to available information, the blasts have caused minor damages to the premises.

Chennai - A report reaching a TNS reporter in Chennai says the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE), the Tamileelam Air Force (TAF)'s aircrafts air born over the Mannar Thalladai Sri Lankan military complex and dropped some bombs Tuesday 10:50 p.m. The Early reports reaching TNS not clear about the extent of the damage caused by the TAF to the Mannar military complex at this point. Meanwhile, another report reaches Colombo says, another TAF Air Craft flown over Colombo and unloaded bombs over the Oil Tanks area, and damage to the Oil Tanks systems also un clear at this point. "The aircraft dropped bombs in Colombo near the oil storage tanks," a military source said on condition of anonymity. Another source confirmed it and said it was under investigation, according to the Colombo based international news agency.
