Expression Designer, a graphics tool for building individual visual elements, uses XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) to describe graphics. Designers can export their visual designs as XAML files and share them with developers who use Visual Studio, which can also "read" XAML files.

Microsoft on December 4, 2006 released an early version of Windows Presentation Foundation/Everywhere (WPF/E), a download which, like Adobe's Flash player, can run rich media Web applications. Here WPF/E displays an animated game on the Safari browser running Mac OS.

I don't think they try to copy software as a whole. But they sure do absorb the best features of other software, to make the best of all worlds.

Dont say so, coz every web publisher s/w must have some set of features, so they shud also implement them if they like it or not. And every web publishing s/w has the same interface as the Dreamweaver interface. Bytheway u and me cant abuse them even if they copy, coz we're also using pirated s/w frm them, so think bfore u post! [And cant u post all info on a single post]

Well... I disagree with you to on this, yes it is true that there are set of features that a web authoring tool should provide but those are the BASIC FEATURES but when you view Frontpage and Dreamweaver there is a huge difference between them from both Authoring tools point of view and the HCI (Human Computer Interaction) point of view. I can give you many reasons why Dreamweaver is such a powerful editor and highly regarded in the industry as an Industry standard! There were and are many competitors for it but none were quite like the Dreamweaver!!! Even Adobe prior to obtain Macromedia had an web authoring tool called "Go Live!" if you've heard of it!!
Now, Front Page only included the Basics!! It's good to design and publish your home page and also for Novice use but designing and developing anything more would be a nightmare using it!!
Now Microsoft obviously understands the difference, now when you want a develop a good and competitive piece of s/w to whom would you look into 1st??? Obviously your main competitor (Simple business logics) so, its quite clear that Microsoft would have definitely had the peek over Dreamweaver!!!
And to comment on the piracy issue... just think that Microsoft ever found a way to 100% get rid of piracy and everyone must have legal copies!! can you just think what havoc it will cause to internet economy!!! Even though people use pirated s/w they still uses those softwares to purchase goods and services through net! So on the contrary though we use pirated s/w we are one part that aids world's economy indirectly!!!

I know about Go Live, didnt use.
Yes, everyone peaks at their competitor to make a good product, Its a basic business idealogy
But I dont think it might be a big profit for Microsoft.
I think evryone is bashing Microsoft to look cool, while pretending Linux is the best!

Well... whether LINUX or WINDOWS!! It's totally depending on ur requirement!!
Ex: If you a Hardcore gamer... then forget about LINUX, but on the other hand if you need a stable mail server for your company Linux would be a better choice!!
So both has pros and cons!!!
