Buying at EBay

dear Elakirians...

i have bought several things from EBay and got them in time... :D
but i ordered small things...like pendrives, hadsfree kits,memory cards,data cables...
i diddnt have 2 pay for tax at SL for them... :D

now im looking forward to buy some computer parts...and phones...:rolleyes:

guys tell me will i have to pay tax at SL customs when recieving a CPU,MOBO, HDD or a phone from EBay? :confused:

well, they can confiscate it since you need permission to import phones. No other trouble except that they can keep the phone.
Taxes will be standard tax that they charge on imported phones. No idea about the amount now.

If you really want to do this, try it out with a really cheap phone (Rs. 2000/- ) in plain packaging or gift wrap. If you receive that unopened and without tax, wait for some time and get the phone you want in the same packaging.
Oh, and when buying phones, make sure the thing works in SL. Phones from some countries doesnt work in SL due to difference frequencies that are being used there.

think that we are bringing N95 for 30000rupees and the customs tells that the specific model is priced at 60000rupees,then do we have to pay just according to that price?

Ofcause!. We have to pay tax for the 60k price. If you argue, they simply confiscate the item and getting it out after that bigger hassle.

Like I said before, the best thing is to try it out with a cheap phone first and see. No point in getting all worked up without trying it first.
