Dear Reader,

I am writing this behalf of my loving husband.

Everything was fine, me, my husband and our two children. We had a happy family. My husband was an Engineer in a big company. He comes home early and helps me with the house chores and plays with the children.

Our dreams was shattered in front of our eyes last week. It was a drunk lorry driver, came on the wrong side and hit us and went.

It killed my little baby girl and left my husband paralyed. My husband is still in the hospital. His brain is damaged and he needs a operation. I need 5 lahks to save his life. I collected about 3 lahks from my friends and family. I need another 2 lahks.

I don't want to lose him. He was such a wonderful husband & father. He still doesn't know we lost our little girl. I am looking after my son now. Without my husband I won't be able to takecare of him.

Please help me save my husband the one person I dearly love. I already lost my daughter and I don't want to lose my husband as well. Please help us.

Thank you very much for your love & support. May God bless you.

Yours Truly,
Nirosha Silva

There are few eeky things in this post
1. Which hospital is her husband? As far as I know the best place for Neurosurgey is NSU in Colombo General Hospital.

2. It says her husband needs brain surgery and as well as paralysed. From the knowledge I have it's illogical. If the man needs surgery he has to be unconcious or semiconcious where it is very difficult for a lay person to judge wheter the person is paralysed or not.

3. If it is the case, then the person needs urgent surgery. There's no time to waste in finding money. If she does not have money, get her husband transferred to NSU-NHSL. THAT WILL DO.

And a word for rapa - Don't post these things as you get them. Please find out the truth and then post

Awww Iam sorry this happened.....

But is this true?............

seems like a big accident to kill her daughter and leave her husband paralysed and with a brain damage...two critically injured...and one died...but wife and son is Okey...it's hard 2 believe it....by da sound of da accident i thought may b they all will be in da hospital...soz if i sound cruel or anything...but dont you think?

"Everything was fine, me, my husband and our two children. We had a happy family. My husband was an Engineer in a big company. He comes home early and helps me with the house chores and plays with the children."

Sure they'll be able to afford da money coz her husband was rich by da sound of it....

Hi guys,

I also received this hoax email today (30/8/07)and was suprised that 'Nirosha' did not put her email address in the mail.

One question I would like answered, is does AOL provide 5 cents for every email forwarded? Do they particpiate in such thing such as helping people who have had a tragedy?

One thing I noticed is that she said that her daughter died, and now she has to look after her son all by herself. Along with the picture of her husband, I also got a picture of the woman with her 2 sons and daughter (see attached  . So.. what happened to her other son?

Also, by the look of the interior of her house, it doesnt look like they live in Sri Lanka. There is a Western-style couch and the door has a chain and latch , which are frequently found in Western countries such as New Zealand, UK, US, Australia..

I hope that in the previous hoax emails that were sent, the hoaxer did not provide a fake website for people to deposit money into...

Anyway, if anyone can recognise this family, maybe we can track down the spammer!!

Regards

If it is a true story, why didnt she name the hospital that her husband is in?
Why doesnt she have an email address?

Jeevanie,

Yes, I know this family and they live in US happily. Without any such incident. Also the guy originally was in this mail was from different family in SL and he also doesn’t have to do any thing with this.

We have done some track down on the photo and complained to relevant people too.

The Picture you have mentioned in your mail got attached to the mail at SLIIT (Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology) on July 26th 1:28 pm (SL time) . The email account, which posted the mail with two images, belongs to "Sujani", a lecture at SLIIT ([email protected]). An inquiry was held regarding this on Sep 7, 2007 too. The picture was originally on personal photos of another staff member of SLIIT. There is evidence that after sending this mail she has called some of her mails recipients and asked whether they have got it.

By this you can estimate the Ethical standard of the so-called “IT professionals” (I am not offending all )

If you have got this mail, PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD IT. And make every effort to stop it form circulating.

If you need more info please post a message here.

Hi Ssepala,

Thanks for giving the elaKiri community the outcome of your investigation. Do you work at SLIIT too? Yes, I think that, as a lecturer, Sujani should be ashamed of herself for spamming people with such emotionally provoking emails.
I hope she was terminated from her job as a lecturer at SLIIT.

Did Sujani get apprehended or what? What did she say when she was interviewed about this..and why did she contact her recipients after she sent the SPAM mail..what kind of perverted person is she?

As a woman qualified and working in theInformation Technology field in Sydney, Australia, I was disgusted that a university lecturer did this awful act. I wonder what subject she lecturs there...."How to be a Fraudulent Email Spammer 101"
Maybe Sri Lankan taxpayer's money should go to better use than to pay her salary..so many young people in lanka dont EVEN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO UNI!!

C'mon people, let's SPAM Sujani for a change!

Any one in IT field knows AOL or any other company is not paying money for forwarding mails. In addition, technically they can not track every email thats being forward.

If you want to know about this type of scams please see http://publicawareness.wordpress.com/

If you need more info on this particular mail please drop me mail [email protected]

You may check validity of my claims independantly through your contacts (if any) in SLIIT .
