In the morning, a group of 36 persons arrived in and five more crossed the border around 12.30 PM.

Twenty nine of them were males and 12 were females.
They were the residents of Semamadu and Nainamadu of Vavuniya district. They said that they had escaped after LTTE enlisted them.

The Defense Ministry says that these people were provided with food and medicine. They were later directed to welfare camps.
