The release of the Intel Core i7 has set the overclocking arena abuzz with excitement in anticipation of new world records. Armed with the ASUS ROG Rampage II Extreme motherboard that supports the newest Intel platform, the Japanese overclocking enthusiast duck smashed to the top of the overclocking charts and notched in a world record for Core i7 CPU frequencies. Recording an exceptional score of 5510.09 MHz, duck clearly laid down the gauntlet for future challengers to the throne. A CPU overclocking veteran, duck still holds the world’s highest frequency for overclocking a Pentium 4 631 CPU to a staggering 8180.4MHz last year.

The new world record was in no small part thanks to the overclocking-oriented features found on the new Rampage II Extreme motherboard. TweakIt, an easy-to-use joystick-like control on the motherboard, enables overclockers to make real-time changes to their systems’ core frequency, voltage and other parameters—even while the benchmark utility is running. At no point does software come into play, as the tweaking is completely hardware-based. With hassle-free tweaking, coupled with real-time LCD poster information such as system frequency, users can implement on-the-fly modifications during CPU tests for extraordinary benchmark scores.

Well, PhenomII will be 4 way SMT and Corei7 is 8 way SMT.
In most video rendering/conversion apps, Corei7 will have pretty much two times the processing power. And it is already at 3.2GHz. PhenomII's 3GHz is coming in another 5 months.

Maybe you didn't read me right, the Bug is there alright but it was fixed using a bios patch, just like it was fixed on phenoms, this doesn't mean the bug is not there its documented on Intel white paper.

guys these are the prices of Intel Core i7...
Ci7 920 / 2.66GHz LGA1366 4.8 GT/s $299.99
Ci7 920 / 2.66GHz LGA1366 4.8 GT/s $309.99
Ci7 940 / 2.93GHz LGA1366 4.8 GT/s $609.99
Ci7 965EE/3.2GHz LGA1366 6.4 GT/s $1079.99

First two Processers suckz....has Core i7 name Only....
guys dnt be fools....
In January 2009 AMD Beats Intel as well as 2006.....
This Time AMD got much time to switch 45nm Technology.....
Phonom II reaches 6.3 GHz.....
AMD's Overdrive Application is amazing....

AMD Cheap & Best for Gaming, cuz ATI HD cards Running in AMD 7x0 chipsets 180% Faster......
Their Phonom II 3Ghz best Processer priced as 300$.....

We could see how AMD's 45nm workz.......

We'll see, won't we? I'm done predicting! Last two times I predicted going along with AMD's specs (HD2000 series and Phenom), they failed to even come close to *acceptable* levels.

Intel have a "working" product now. And it is working really well. Why bother about something that doesn't exist yet, and best of all not benchmark scores have been released of?

Of course the Corei7 is still too new to recommend to anyone when the Penryn based low end quad cores are ruling the market, especially when they can be clocked so far out of spec.
