The Government has requested all Sri Lankans to observe two minutes silence on December 26, the fourth anniversary of the tsunami , from 9.25 - 9.27 am in remembrance of all those who perished in the natural disaster.
Ten of the early warning towers which span the coastal belt of the country would be commissioned on December 26, during the commemorative celebrations to be held at the Dharmarajah College, Kandy, the Information Department said.
A number of other projects are also to be launched which would enhance the country's capacity towards disaster preparedness.
