The bomb threat from LTTE to innocent civilians is rising everyday. All are pulling their hair out to face this threat and hopefully we will achieve some public safety with every ones endless support and dedication as it seems now.
The public transport is the worst affected and bus conductors can play a major role in the safety of commuters by doing their best when taking people in to buses. The bombs that can come in bags will be exposed this way with better chance than with no checks at all.
However major provisions for carrying bombs attached to human bodies do still exist among us. Normally from the outside appearance of a dressed up person, with just visual inspections, we can say if that person has something extra attached to the body. But how many of us thought that Islamic female national dress (Hijab from head to toe exposing only eyes) which is in alarmingly high use within Colombo could defeat this easy threat detection so badly? The Islamic social influence against checking such dressed up persons will only add some bonus points for LTTE to consider using this dangerous dress to exploit easily for suicide bombers from them. Even a man can easily hide under this dress to attack innocent civilians in any public place.
My request to all of you is to spread the news among working staff of busses and other public transport systems to avoid boarding people with this kind of dangerous dresses with immediate effect for the safety of everyone while requesting Islamic followers to re-think before using this dress risking the lives of others at least during a time like this that every ones support is mandatory to face the enemy.
Let’s do our best for public safety by stopping all provisions for terrorism.
