Programs known as feed readers or aggregators can check a list of feeds on behalf of a user and display any updated articles that they find. It is common to find web feeds on major websites and many smaller ones. Some websites let people choose between RSS or Atom formatted web feeds; others offer only RSS or only Atom.
RSS-aware programs are available for various operating systems. Client-side readers and aggregators are typically constructed as standalone programs or extensions to existing programs such as web browsers and Email readers. Many browsers have integrated support for RSS feeds. There also are other applications that can convert an RSS feed into several usenet articles, viewable through the major newsreader software such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Forté Agent.
Web-based feed readers and news aggregators such as NewsGator Online require no software installation and make the user's "feeds" available on any computer with Web access. Some aggregators combine existing web feeds into new feeds, e.g., taking all football related items from several sports feeds and providing a new football feed. There are also search engines for content published via web feeds like Bloglines.
On Web pages, web feeds (RSS or Atom) are typically linked with the word "Subscribe", an orange rectangle, a feed iconhttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/43/Feed-icon.svg/16px-Feed-icon.svg.png, or with the letters http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b9/XML.gif or http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2e/RSS.gif. Many news aggregators such as My Yahoo![1] publish subscription buttons for use on Web pages to simplify the process of adding news feeds.

It's a cool thing, but considering the ever-growing number of new threads, it will have a new list every half hour. Keeping track of them is not gonna be an easy task.
Yah but atleast for Downloads section we can put one...

I don't think it will be useful for these kind of forums since we already have latest stuff in the home page. But i don't mind of having it either. :D

Hay thanks for the PM pata
I can add a RSS feed to Forum but it will be so huge and very fast updating so will not really make any good advantage than visiting the normal site.
I can add a RSS to downloads section which is a good idea, but in the same time leechers will love it, coz they will check RSS feed and only will visit the site when new downloads add. Download it and go away...
So I am not gonna add RSS to download section.

Yes. I've faced this problem a lot. Neon_White, who's in Aus, has been getting this problem more than I, so it's not a problem with SLT. The server needs some pitying!!! :D

switching to a powerful server!
I badly need RSS, coz with Dial-up cant keep up with new threads
I'm on dialup too, i don’t think its extremely slower than ADSL when it comes to browsing the forum. Dialup really feels slower when downloading files. (I am talking about elakiri site only)
I dont think adding RSS to threads will help you alot coz RSS only give headers or small amount of info, most of the time you will have to visit the site to get the idea about whats going on inside the thread. Anyway i'll think about it in Beta 3.
About the server load issue i dont think it'll make any big difference, coz only few ppl will use the RSS to read the threads and i really dont think its a practical way to check fast updating forum with RSS. so you will most probably will not gain what you imagine with it.
Other thing we already have AJAX technology in the forum. You can see when you quick post, edit posts, etc.. it never reload/refresh the page, it updates without refreshing or reloading. So really suitable for dialup users and for fast conversations etc..
I am really sorry about the server load issue, no RSS can help it.. only more powerful server will do  Anyway we are having some financial problems, got to find some ways to overcome these problems.. anyway stay tuned..

 Man, Its a surprise!

Yeah I know. But It's only used @ quick reply, but it is very useful, but its functionality is limited. If you could modify the forum's thread template to show updated posts with a Refresh thread button using AJAX (I guess there might be plugins out there), it would be the ultimate solution for Dial-up users (and sometimes server load issue) But I agree, it would be a hardwork

Yeah, you're missing a lot of Adsense income already. I wonder why ur not using it....
