Here's how to "POP" mail from Yahoo! Mail Plus into your Outlook Express:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
Under "My incoming mail server is a…" select "POP3."
Type "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
Type "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail password.
If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure…"
Click "Next."
Click "Finish."
Select 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com' under 'Account,' and click 'Properties.'
Click the “Servers” tab.
Under “Outgoing Mail Server” check the box next to “My server requires authentication”
Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Under “Outgoing mail Server (SMTP)”, check the box next to “This server requires a secure connection (SSL). Enter port number “465” in the “Outgoing mail (SMTP)” field.
Under “Incoming mail (POP3)”, check the box next to “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". The port number in the “Incoming mail (POP3)" field should automatically change from 110 to 995. If it doesn’t, make sure the port number is set to 995. Troubleshooting instructions.
If you followed the above configuration steps, you should be all set. However, if you cannot send or receive mail with your email client, try the following tips.
The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server requires authentication. Make sure you have enabled SMTP authentication. To turn this setting on:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Double-click the account labeled "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com."
Select the "Servers" tab.
Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
Click "OK." To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Double-click the account labeled "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com."
Select the "Advanced" tab.
In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express. We strongly recommend that you enable SSL for both POP and SMTP, as detailed in the above instructions. This will ensure that your Yahoo! ID, password and email messages are transmitted securely between your mail client and the Yahoo! servers. However, if you choose to not use SSL for SMTP, your email client will likely default the SMTP port to 25. If your ISP blocks port 25 or if you're unable to send email, then you will need to use port 587 when sending via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. To make this change, please follow the directions below:
From the "Tools" menu, select "Accounts"
Select your Yahoo! POP account and click on the "Properties" button
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Next to "Outgoing server (SMTP), change port 25 to 587
Click "Apply", then click "OK" and "Close"

For a yearly fee, Yahoo! provides POP access to your Yahoo! Mail account.
Yahoo! Mail on the Web and on Your Desktop
This means you can use your regular email program (Outlook Express, for example, or Windows Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird) to receive and send messages with your Yahoo address.
Use Your Email Program with Your Yahoo! Mail Plus Account
After you have signed up for Yahoo! Mail Plus, add a new email account to your email program with the following POP and SMTP settings:
Yahoo! Mail POP server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (http://plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com/)
POP port: 995
POP TLS/SSL: yes
POP user name: Your My Yahoo! ID
Password: Your My Yahoo! password
Yahoo! Mail SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (http://plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com/)
SMTP port: 465
SMTP TLS/SSL: yes
SMTP user name: Your My Yahoo! ID
SMTP password: Your My Yahoo! password
If you run into any problems sending or receiving mail with these settings:
Log in to Yahoo! Mail on the web.
Select Options | Mail Options.
Go to the POP & Forwarding category.
Click View POP Settings for your Yahoo! Mail server settings.
By default, you'll also receive all the spam that goes to the Bulk Mail folder in Yahoo! Mail, but you can prevent downloading this folder via POP.
Access a Free Yahoo! Mail Account in Your Email Program
If you don't want to or can't use the official POP access provided by Yahoo!, YPOPs! can be an alternative, set up easily in Outlook Express, for example, as can be using IzyMail, on any platform and just about any email program.
