Sri Lanka Air Force MIG-27 jets launched an attack targeting LTTE battle tank observed 2Km north of Vishvamadukulam yesterday, 24 January.
Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking to defence.lk said that the air sorties were launched around 9.45 PM and the targeted LTTE battle tank was disabled.
Meanwhile, SLAF MI-24 helicopters raided the LTTE positions in general area Vishvamadukulam 12.30 PM today, 25 January, as troops of 58 Division on a mission to capture the damaged LTTE tank which had been left away by the terrorists flowing the aerial bombing.
Separately, SALF regiment troops conducted search operation in general area Kottakulam, north of Trincomalee, have found 48 Anti-Personnel (AP) mines along with 2800 fuses, last evening, 24 January, Air Force spokesperson added.
