I tested Windows XP Pro (but no service pack installed) and Bearshare 6 Free version while NOD32 2.70.23 was running in the background and I didn't get an error.

Could be your Windows is screwed up.

I think you must Format & reinstall your OS. It's better...

If you can't try to remove all SysRegistry entries using 'Registry Mechanic' or any Soft like that... & Reinstall that again...

Anyway, the best Solution is Format & ReInstall your OS...
& Install that Soft before install others...
