Why we do a SEO ?. Of course because we want a top ranking for better traffic. And it means some who search for relevent keyword will find our site.
So
1. Optimize your website for good keywords.(<meta keywords>). Google doesn't care about keywords so don't get deep in to it just add about 5 keywords to your page.
2.Add keywords to your title tags <title> </title> and at the end, your domain.
eg:- imagine that your site is about cars. Then do something like this
<title> Cars | Car stuff | Car wallpapers | All about Cars ::www.yourcardomain.com::
3.Having something important ? Use h1 tag (<h1> </h1>). Only one time !. And style it with CSS.
Use h2, h3 as well for subheadings etc.
4.Dont forget, content is the king, use some keywords repeatedly in your content
5.Submit your website to directorys, specially DMOZ.ORG. If your website is in sinhala submit it to the sinhala web directory.
6.Doing a social media optimization will increase your traffic. Up to date your content and give users what they are looking for. Make it easy to bookmark your website (Go to www.addthis.com and get your buttons)
6.Start a blog, add the samething you add to your website doesn't matter it's same and remember to add a link to your website. Blogger is better in this case because google is the owner of it.
7.At last have some backlinks as you can. Add a link in your sigi in elakiri. Do link exchanges. More backlinks = more traffic.
8.If you have a competitor in search lisiting, it's good. Go to his website a nd look at the page's source. Take a look at his h1, h2, h3 tags, content.
9.At last add your url to search engines.
Google => http://google.com/addurl
Yahoo => http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
Submiting a sitmap will do better. Don't use softwares to submit your URL. Specially for google & yahoo.
10.Please avoid what to avoid. Read google webmaster guidelines for more info on what to avoid.
