View Full Version : Remove, Green Tiger Maheshwaran from the UNP – JHU appeals

Hundreds of JHU members, supporters and other patriotic public followed a protest against the notorious pro-LTTE UNP parliamentarian, T. Maheshwaran yesterday and demanded to UNP leader Ranil Wicremasinghe to punish the T. Maheshwaran by removing him from the UNP, over the actively supporting to LTTE Tamil terrorists by providing transport the parts of an airplane for LTTE Terrorists.

The protest march started in front of JHU head quarters Nugegoda and marched to "Siri Kotha", the UNP head quarters at Pita-Kotte. Then the "SiriKotha" had been put under siege by JHU members, supporters and other patriotic public.

JHU members, including Ven.Akmeemana Dayarathana Thero, MP Colombo District, Ven.Missaka Kamalasiri Thero, Ven.Ranpathwila Wimalarathana Thero, Ven.Dutuwewa Lankananda Thero, Maharagama Provincial Councilor Molamure Nandarama Thero were headed the protest campaign.

JHU media secretary Nishantha Sri Warnasingha said the UNP leader Ranil Wicremasingha should abolish Maheshwaran's UNP membership and Parliament membership.

Harbour police recovered parts of an airplane last Saturday from a ship belonging to the UNP MP T. Maheshwaran.

The MP had purchased the ship from a Danish company for a sum of US $ 36 million to ship goods from Colombo to Jaffna, police said, quoting the MP's statement.

A group of workers on the ship had first noticed the suspicious looking metal parts and had informed the police. The subsequent search by the police had proven their suspicion that those parts were those of an airplane; police said, adding that there was an eight-foot long metal component.

According to the preliminary investigations, the MP had brought the ship to the Colombo Harbour on January 7. It can hold a load of cargo weighing over 2,000 tonnes.

The Chairman of the JHU Colombo District Jana sabba, Ven.Ranpathwila Wimalarathana Thero handed over a protest letter to Madivaka, the Administrative secretary of the UNP , the letter which is written to Ranil Wicremasingha by the JHU General Secretary, Ven.Omalpe Sobitha Thero , as follows:
