Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera says the LTTE is much more brutal than Al-Qaeda.
During a visit to the Hindustan Times office in New Delhi, the Sri Lankan Minister told the editors and reporters there, "They [LTTE] perfected the art of suicide bombing [and] there has been a transfer of technologies between the groups [LTTE and Al-Qaeda]."
He also said, "The LTTE is a very peculiar kind of organisation. It is not a freedom movement. I have never heard of a freedom movement that kills off its own best people.
"They are fighting for Prabhakaran's personal agenda. The stark truth is that the LTTE is not interested in a negotiated settlement," the Minister added. Mr. Samaraweera is currently on an official visit in India.
