LTTE aims at communal backlash: Kills Sinhalese civilians - Vavuniya
Having being flushed out form their tenants in the Eastern Province, the intelligence leaders of the LTTE seemed to have resorted to their most preferred tactic of killing innocent civilians, aiming at a communal backlash.
In their latest cowardly attempt the LTTE terrorists have killed two Sinhalese civilians and wounded another four at Nelukkulam in Vavuniya this morning.
Police sources said that the LTTE terrorists had stopped a vehicle belonging to Road Development Authority (RDA) at Nellukulam around 8:30 this morning and shot at the 10 laborers who were in the vehicle at the time.
"A group of LTTE cadres stopped our vehicle at a location between Nelukkulam and Cheddikulam while we were heading towards the Vavuniya town. Then they asked us to get down and shot at us indiscriminately while we were running for the life" one labour managed to save his life told defence.lk.
Police sources said four of the labours have been found unharmed and the injured have been rushed to the General hospital Vavuniya. Hospital sources said that one of the wounded is in critical condition.
On Monday (22nd) the LTTE terrorists gunned down two Sinhalese street vendors at Thosikulam in Vavuniya around 2:15 p.m. The members of the LTTE pistol gang had robbed the two victims and killed them in execution style at location close to Vira Hindu temple.
According to the civilian sources the vendors had been selling yogurt and ice-cream to the children in the village when they were robbed and killed by the LTTE pistol gang members.
The court reports indicate that 34 civilians and 22 security forces personnel were killed by the LTTE in Vavuniya during last few months.
