Really? They don't  I mean, they are not normal ADSL connections. They are dedicated (leased) ADSL connections. No telephone connection. They are fast.
ADSL we get are not dedicated or leased. They can become slow when there are lots of traffic. Torrents are always fast.
You know, I have a friend in Australia who has a 24Mbps/1 Mbps ADSL2+ connection. His highest ever torrent downloading speed has been around 750kBps (or 6Mbps). That's only 25% of the given bandwidth. Think how he must be feeling then

But I forgot to mention the most important thing. He's paying more than Rs.5,000 for his connection, and he's only allowed to download 20GB per month.  That's a big

its slow coz there was a earth quake in december last year near indonesia and some of da main cables dat connect have been damaged. so da internet connections are still running in da backup cables. they will be restored soon says SLT!!

Backup cables? I didn't hear that the SEA-ME-WE #4 cable was damaged. But it doesn't mean it was not harm. I just didn't hear it.
However, SEA-ME-WE #3 cable is not fully exhausted yet. It's carrying only 70-80% of it's capacity. I don't think this is the problem. However, the servers in that region could be down.
