BIOS flashing

Have you ever flashed the BIOS of the motherboard? If so, how did you do that?

Whenever I get a new BIOS, I update. Already I've updated 5 times for this motherboard. (only 3 months old :D :D :D)
I download the exe version of it. It then restarts the PC, flashes the BIOS (and the backup chip too - wonder why) and boots back to Windows.

There's nothing to do really. Just download the BIOS, and run it from Windows. That's all. :D

But this method isn't supported on every motherboard. Intel motherboards DO!

There's nothing to do really. Just download the BIOS, and run it from Windows. That's all. :D

5 times I did.3 for old mobo 2 for the now using.I had and have MSI Mobos.they have thing called live update and frm that u can update ur bios frm windows.But I flashed them in DOS .It just takes about 1 min.In windows it will take about 10 mins like.
Always use the parameters when flashing with dos {specially if u use AMI bios]and use a UPS.But Ive never usd ..

Gigabytes' got their DualBIOS® chips for the Best BIOS.Usually theyve got two 1MB bios chips.One for use one for backup.Wonder why is that..
MSI comes with 512KB one.ASUS comes with about 2MB for their Mylogo program which u can have a picture of ur like when booting the PC.

There aren't any ill-effects if you do it properly. You have to always read the readme file. Just because one has previous experience from a different motherboard doesn't mean he/she can try to flash the BIOS just like that :no:

I didnt mean my[zCexVe]logo too.I meant that even iI had an option like that I wont change the stock ome.Its precious.Only 2000 of MSI K8N Diamond Plus premium editions.I will be more happy if I got the HIFI edition.Its the best.The only diff between it and mine is It has a seperately connectod tube amp
with two meters for audio.If I had that kit mine will look like it two.But nfortunately not like AOpens built in tubeamp the MSI separated tubeamp drops a bit qaulity.So I'm happy without it rather than with it.Quality is more important than beauty.
