If u forgot ur password in win xp

1.Start>Run>type cmd.

2.type
net user ------->then press enter(u will see somthing like this
administrater guest
acc.name supp
the com. comp.succ.
C:\D&S\acc.name>_

3. Type
net user acc.name *
(*=shift+8 , acc.name = ur account name)
4.Now u can type a password.But u can't see it.--->Press ENTER

5.REtype it--->press ENTER

6.type exit--->press Enter

Now the pass. has changed

check it..........

Hopefuly, you can press F8 at the windows startup and select command prompt. there you can run all the commands.

Unfortunately, you actualy can not get into the command prompt without login in as admin, guest or user, after pressing F8 at the startup.

but this post comes handy when you have multiple user accounts on your system and obviously when somebody forgets his password.

I guess this can be done by selecting Recovery Console option at windows setup (with bootable cd). if not, please tell us how to do it :yes:

Same as me....well, sort of. I use one, but when Windows starts, it logs in automatically. I use the password to lock the PC when I go away from the PC. Just to keep the system unaltered, not to hide anything :)
