Some information about SLT ADSL...

SLT were going to give new ADSL packages along with the current home and office packages, but the TRC (Telecom Regulatory Commission) hasn't given the approval yet.

Anyway, the pricing is too much IMHO. They were gonna charge Rs.1,000 per 1GB of data download, and still the speeds will be same as the current ones. It will be OK for people who only use ADSL for web browsing, but for downloaders, it's just a JOKE. :yes:

Nope
One other thing. There are few reasons why internet speed can be slow.
1. Your telephone loop's condition is not very good (low Signal to Noise Ratio, errors present in data etc.)
2. The server throughput is low and/or too much users trying to access data from them
3. Most important one is the 40% contingency ratio

(Note: The last one doesn't apply to the local servers such as ones ending with .lk)

IP Telephone will come with it.

This is where those VCI and VPI values come into play. They are needed to give different services using the same link. So, IPTV will get a different VCI number and so will the IP Telephone.

Yeah it is wrong. It happens to me too.

It does the same thing with IDM (i.e. goes to 80kBps+) as well, but NetMeter never shows the download speed exceeding 57kBps.
