Played NFSC with motion blur for the first time.

I went to Asus center today in the afternoon after visiting the exhibition and there I got to play NFSC on a Radeon X1900XTX card. In fact there were two cards in the system, but since the power supply didn't have two power connectors, one card was not working. It was installed alright, but it was sitting there idle.

Anyway, when I ramped up all the graphics settings, at some place there were frame skips (i.e. the video card couldn't handle it). Wow! How the hell wouldn't an X1900XTX can't handle it. And the maximum resolution I could use was 1280x1024 because it didn't display anything higher (monitor not supported). Hmm....I was a bit disappointed. Maybe that was a driver issue.

Once motion blur was turned off, it ran silky smooth. And I have to say, motion blur is cool, but it's too much. You can't drive the car easily.

It doesn't support Motion Blur anyway. Only ATI's X1000 series cards support motion blur!

AFAIK, there is only one effect that can be done in SM3.0, which cannot be done in SM2.0b. But I can't remember it.

Because I remember when we had the lap record contest in NFSMW (http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13012&goto=newpost) (whatever happened to it :rolleyes:), you posted 1min 48secs when we had 1min 37secs.

And also I'm not saying I'm bad at real world driving; just over cautious, because I don't want any trouble.

if u have a good VGA catd....its noo prob..u can play nfs mw...with da highest graphic settings.....motion blur is used to get through da sarp turns in da game.so we can easily handle da vehicle in dat moment...

but it realy fun wih dat effect on....sorry abt da earlier post...podi case ekak...:rolleyes:

hehe....:D .....time brake is wat we can use in a verry tight situation...like a fast persuit....we can go realy fast useing da time break we can slow down our time....like in da MATRIX....like slow motion....so we can get a sharp turn easliy...but i dont recommend to use it coz it slows down da vehicle speed rapidly...coz we not using da brakes...da vehisle tends to drag to one side so da speeds drop faster dan we brake...so u should try it..but dont use it freequently....:yes: :yes: :yes:

That's cheating, and also you can never set a record time if you use time breaking, because you lose a lot of speed if you do that although you think you took the curve well.

And remember we are talking about NFSC, not NFSMW. In NFSMW, it was properly implemented, and I play it will almost all the details set to max.

Anyway, what I posted was also my third try. And I raced with manual transmission. Didn't I tell you people who can drive well in real life, can't drive well in NFS. :)
