Not sure about the current prices but,
7600GS was spotted at Rs.14,500 at Mitech
X800GTO is around Rs14,000-19,000 (dunno the current prices or the best deal)
I haven't seen a 7600GT
Haven't checked the prices of 7300GT because I wasn't gonna get that how much cheaper it was.

&300 LE was aroud 11k.
7600GS was around 13.5K.
Heard EPSI got 7600GT or so for 18k.
Not an ATI fan.
BTW If u gonna by this frm EPSI here is da tip.
Find some very close relative to ya with a HSBC credit card(i.e. ur father or even u).EPSI gives 10% discount when buyed frm that card.Put credit money into the card and buy it with da card for 90% of the price. Two out of two of my frnds were successful by this method.Thats one way u can beat EPSI price I found out.If any other lemme knw too........

I made up my mind that my CPU is fast enough. If my motherboard will ever support FSB1333 CPUs (i.e. Conroe Refresh), I might have a chance to overclock the CPU in another way. See here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132900) if you are interested about what I'm talking about.

Asus P5B-E is Rs.20,000 at EPSI. It's same as Gigabyte 965P-DS3 feature wise and performance wise.

Oh lol. I didn't see a X850XT anywhere. EPSI only had the X800Pro and X800XL. They are not as fast as the X850XT or 7600GT. But if you buy a Sapphire X800GTO, you can most probably unlock the extra pipelines to make it almost as fast as a X850XT. Too bad the X800GTO doesn't have an external power input, otherwise it would overclock a lot.

3DMark is synthetic. Check the games. X850XT wins all of them (maybe except the opengl games). With AA/AF, 7600GT is nowhere near it.

Damn it. I wasn't talking about the power from the PSU. I was talking about the X800GTO not having an external power connector.

X850XT < X1800XL < X1800XT < X1950Pro < X1900XT ....
7600GT < 7900GS (because 7800 is not there anymore) < 7950GS (but very rare) < 7900GT < 7950GT <7900GTX ....

Anyways...gotta go.

I downloaded WMVHD 1080p trailer from Microsoft. (Terminator 2)

Played it on WMP11 and JetAudio 6.28. Here's the task manager usage.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6999/wmvhd1080pplaybackonwmpbv7.jpg
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/8899/wmvhd1080pplaybackonjetdt0.jpg

JetAudio used less resources, and the video quality in both players was immaculate. In WMP11, video smoothing was turned off together with DirectX acceleration because they made the CPU utilize more cycles.

7600GT can't handle the power required by advanced SM3.0 functions. You have to got a 7900 series if you wanna have the best experience. Anyway, if you think about SM3.0, it's old as well. New generation is SM4.0.

Mine goes to 80C at full load. Remember, this card's cooler is not supposed to handle the heat dissipated by a X850XT. But this is still OK. You only need to keep it under 90-100C for a video card. 45C is the idle temperature. I have to agree, the 7600GT runs cool because it uses a newer process technology. 7600GT uses 90nm and X800GTO uses 130nm or 110nm.

Hey! 640x480 is nothing compared to 1080p (i.e. 1920x1080). 0.3MPixel vs. 2MPixel
Then do you think Nvidia cheating me by printing HD-Video and HD-TV compatible on their spec sheet

ever done any benchmarks?
no men, just hav SiSoftware Sandra Lite XI :(

HDR is there. And you don't use motion blur even if you could ne.
 the badnews is am using motionblur on NFSC now  , coz it gives some sense like driving in real-life  , at first I had it off, now I have got used to, runnin with motion blur on. But I hardly get time to play games :( :(

I don't care what he tells me. He's the one who's living in the old days. 1024x768 resolution?
Its a matter of personal preference and hardware-support ;), not technology

if you think about SM3.0, it's old as well. New generation is SM4.0.
Then wt should we call SM 2.9b

Mine goes to 80C at full load
Isnt it too hot for longrun? But doesnt matter if you're switching cards soon  :)

Extreme HD
Go beyond standard high definition (HD) and experience Extreme High Definition (XHD), the ultimate widescreen, ultra-high-resolution PC experience made possible by NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics processing units (GPUs). XHD has over 4x the picture clarity of native 1080i HD televisions and 2x the picture clarity of 1080p HD televisions on today’s hottest PC games.

Just try to find a 1080p video and see if you can play it without skipping frames. This is the only way to know it.

So you think I would use Motion Blur and use 1024x768 even if my card supported it? Motion Blur is too heavy on the graphics card, unless you have a Geforce 8800 or X1900 cards in X-fire. (Because a single X1900 can't handle 1280x1024, full graphics at 30fps+ always. It goes into the low 20's sometimes).

SM2.9b????

80C is no big deal because video card clock speeds are low compared to CPUs'

I knew all about the PureVideo technology nVidia uses even before you heard about Geforce 7's.

AFAIK, to relieve the CPU to the extent nVidia claims, you need PureVideo decoder installed.

But the thing is, your CPU could be too slow to playback 1080p videos; mostly the H.264 encoded ones. Geforce 7600GT is one of the best GPUs in Geforce7 family in video post processing because of the high GPU clock speed. Pipelines doesn't matter in this case. It's comparable to 7900GTX.

I just checked QuickTime 1080p with h264 compression and it seems more resource hungry.

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/7756/quicktimeh2641080pplaybex2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

However, there are lots of CPU spikes. The average utilization would be comparable to the other two however. Just look at the bump in RAM usage when I started playing the video.

This motherboard is very old. Who would wanna buy this?
I mean, the chipset is old. Uses AGP and DDR. You can plug in a Core 2 Duo of course, but that's the only positive thing I can say about this, unless you have 2GB+ DDR400 with you and bought a X1950Pro AGP card by mistake :D
