Help,Toshiba M300

Hi,
I bought a toshiba M300 laptop from canada. At very first boot it showd some error saying problem with last attached device and restart .After restarting it prompt the language selection(english or french).
After selecting that it was loading for some time and frozen.
I have no recovery cds
1)can I re install/repair vista from the recovery partition?
2)If I do so can I get the laptop to default settings(as same as how I received from company)

plz help me how to do this....

I have no idea how its partitioned.Boot failure in First time.So no idea about the parttions.anyway there must be a seperate hidden partition for recovery.

I want to know how can we recover in toshiba.
