how to lock a folder without using any software in xp! *Copy the following codes (Marked in blue colour):

* Now paste it in notepad.
* Change the "type your password here" with your password (Marked as bold in the above posted matter).
* Save it as batch file(with extension .bat).Any name will do.
* Now you see a batch file. Double click it to create a folder locker.
* A new folder named Locker would be formed at the same location.
* Now brings all the files you want to hide in the locker folder.
* Now double click the batch file to lock the folder namely Locker.
* If you want to unlock your files,double click the batch file again and you would be prompted for password.Enter the password and enjoy access to the folder.

run --> cmd --> ok

change to the drive n parent folder if any
(like d: --> cd test)

type DIR /ad
now you can see the folder

cd C*
now you are in that ***Locaked Folder*** without password

now you can copy files to anywhere
no need any password

But if you have good understanding in DOS, breaking this kind of fake folder lock is easy. In this batch file actually folder doesn’t lock. It’s only renaming with extension like Control Panel or Recycle bin.

According to my knowledge most of system folders are beginning with "{" character. So we can find all hidden folders with "DIR *{* /ad /s"

In this batch file any one can see the codes, but we can integrate same procedure in to VB and make an EXE instead of BAT.

But both one can breaks by DOS commands.
