A new GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card with 320MB of memory has joined Nvidia's GeForce 8 lineup. Just like the GeForce 8800 GTS that launched last November, the new model has 96 stream processors, a 500MHz core clock speed, a 1.2GHz shader speed, an 800MHz memory speed, and a 320-bit memory bus. However, the card has 320MB of memory instead of 640MB, and Nvidia's recommended retail price is $299-349, or about $100 cheaper than the older model.
As is now frequent with Nvidia's graphics card launches, the GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB is not only available, but available with little to no price premium. Newegg has eVGA, Leadtek, and XFX flavors of the new card in stock for $299.99, and "factory overclocked" variants like this BFG model can be had for a few bucks more.

My friend Punsiri uses an ASUS nVidia GeForce 7900GT(not the silence model) one.It is about 38k frm EPSI about 2 months ago.So u cant think of a 8800 for cheap.
Chaminga U might knw him as well.
BTW he said he bought his ASUS P5N-32SLI board for 30k frm EPSI.Thats cheap considering others.(But that board has Nforce 4 SLI X 16 Intel edition though)

Anyway, speaking of the 8800GTS 320MB model, it's most of the times as fast as the 640MB model, but sometimes, it even becomes slower than a X1950Pro 256MB. That's not a good sign. However, if you have a monitor limited to a mx o 1300x1200 resolution or even lower, this card will be the only thing that you will need for a long time. You will still be able to play any game at the maximum graphics quality levels the game allows without and slowness.
ANyway, here's a review for people who are interested in checking how it performs.

There's 640MB cards floating around for ~$350 so until this card drops down to ~$250 the savings doesn't really make it worth risking significantly slower performance in upcoming games.

Why did he go for nForce chipset? Because of SLI? I doubt he will ever use another 7900GT card. Even if he wants to, they will be already out of existence by that time.
He could have gone with an Intel chipset.

But what good is a 7900GT when you can buy a 8300GT for cheaper? (the specs in the latter were better than the 7900GT + DX10 support too)
