http://www.lankatruth.com/photos/President/rajapaksha.jpg Messrs. Anura Bandaranayake, Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathy Suriyarachchi were sacked from the ministerial posts as they were conspiring against the government said President Mahinda Rajapakse.
He said this at the executive meeting of the SLFP to justify his action to sack the three ministers.
The President said the three ousted ministers had campaigned in the Parliament against the vote for extending of emergency regulations and had walked out during the voting. The President said the three former ministers carried out propaganda against him and the government in the media and used a newspaper of the airport chairman to criticize government policy.
He also said though Sri Lanka had always been on the side of Palestine, at the voting in the UN regarding Palestine Mr. Mangala Samaraweera had walked out at the time of the voting. The President said this action of Mr. Samaraweera was more deplorable as he, the President, was involved in Palestine Friendship Association.
SLFP was not a private asset of any one individual; its leadership cannot be achieved through conspiracies said Mr. Rajapakse adding there was time for those at fault to correct themselves.
