Following the disappearance of a young female classmate, timid high-schooler Mark stumbles upon a fresh grave in the woods of his peaceful suburb. With the help of two friends, James and his girlfriend Chasely, Mark returns to the site to dig up what they imagine is someone's deceased pet. Their bit of silly fun turns dangerous when instead they unearth the body of a Canadian backpacker. Following, they embark upon a hunt for the identity of the killer. But soon, the trio find themselves in over their heads and lured into a violent world.
