NVIDIA is using back the GTS naming for their mainstream cards and is preparing to launch their GeForce 8600 series codenamed G84 in April. There will be 2 models; GeForce 8600 GTS and GeForce 8600GT and they are priced at $249-$299 and $199-$249 respectively. Interestingly, there is no G81 or GeForce 8900 series we heard. There is something more powerful brewing over at NVIDIA.
Now what's wrong in this picture? TheInquirer reposts that the 8900GS 256MB will be around US$200. They can't possibly sell the 8600GTS for $249-$299.

Wonder whom to believe.

Let's hope not

US$200 card will be about Rs.30,000-35,000 here - if you can find one.
So, we'll have to go with the 8300GT or 8300GS to get them under Rs.20,000

Are you nuts?
There aren't any 512MB X800 cards.
X1300 is slower than 7600GS by a long way.

Oh ok :D

Oh I just remembered that there was a X800XL and a X850XT 512MB version. Maybe this card is using on of those PCBs.

But still, that 512MB is not properly utilized in an X800 series card, because they are too slow.

Even in the 8800GTS, only a couple benchmarks show the ill-effects of cutting down RAM in half. If it doesn't show tangible performance hits by going from 640MB to 320MB, it won't show any difference in X850XT 256MB and 512MB versions. (as these are about 4 - 6 times slower than a 8800GTS)

Damn!

I didn't think it would show this much dramatic performance improvements.
