Sony Ericsson K810

http://i.gsmarena.com/ii/newsimg/0701-se/gsmarena_004.jpg
The Sony Ericsson K810 is the next generation of cameraphones by Sony Ericsson - it builds on the success of the K800 model. Upgrades over the existent K800 are both hardware and software-related. The active lens cover is much more slimmer now and doesn't protrude from the body the way it did with K800. Besides being a lot thinner than its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson K810 will be equipped with a Photo Fix application for optimizing brightness and contrast and will also have illuminated side camera keys. what that means is that when the camera application is on, four of the alphanumeric keys on the keypad will become shortcuts for specific camera functions. Those keys are "1", "4", "7" and "*" and when the camera is on, an illuminated signs below them lit up to guide you on their functions. Besdies that functionality-wise, the K810 is pretty much unchanged - tri-band GSM/GPRS support, 3G networks support with video calls and a 3.2 megapixel Cyber-shot camera with auto focus and a Xenon flash.
In much the same way that K800 had its twin EDGE brother in the face of K790, now the K810 model also has an EDGE twin - the Sony Ericsson K818 which will be targeted at the Chinese market. The Sony Ericsson K810 and the K818 will be available within Q2 2007 in two colors: Noble Blue and Golden Ivory.

The second addition to the Cyber-shot line of mobiles comes in the mid-range line. It is a successor of the K510 model and is designated as Sony Ericsson K550. It has a 1.9" 262K colors display and a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, a two-LED flash and an active lens cover. It would also boast quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, a Memory Stick Micro M2 card slot, and a FM radio - all that is housed in a body with a thickness of mere 14 mm.
The K550 would also have a twin brother - the Sony Ericsson K510im which would be the first i-mode enabled mobile bearing the Cyber-shot logo and would try to build on the success of the Sony Ericsson K610im. The Sony Ericsson K550 would become commercially available to selected markets in Q1 2007 in Jet Black or Pearl White color combinations.

Highly awaited, the Nokia E90 is the Nokia's new shot at communicators - a theme
that was left aside for quite some time now. The new Nokia is based on the Symbian 9.1 OS with the 3rd generation of S60 user interface - a highly popular Symbian modification that has already established a wide fan base. The Nokia E90 features more or less all current connectivity technologies such as quad-band GSM/EDGE/GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, miniUSB, Bluetooth 2.0 and Infrared port. The external 16M colors display has a QVGA resolution, while the internal PDA display has a resolution of 800x352 pixels and features 16 million colors as well. The monster size Nokia E90 weighs 210 g and has a rated standby time of good 14 days. In these days imaging is just as important as everything else and the Nokia E90 Communicator doesn't fail to impress with a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera. The communicator also boasts a FM radio and a microSD memory card slot. The Nokia E90 would start shipping in Q2 of 2007 but would have wider availability in Q3 2007 and will be sold at an expected price of 750-800EUR.

The Nokia E65 comes also with support for even wider email services. Nokia E65 is already available in selected markets but wider availability is expected in the first quarter of 2007 at an estimated retail price of 400EUR

http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2006/10/aeon-concept-2.jpg
Nokia's research and development team have kicked it up a gear with an attractive "aeon" concept phone showing up in the R&D section of the company's website. The most prominent design feature of aeon is a touchscreen that stretches over the full surface area of the phone, similar to BenQ-Siemens's Black box concept phone we saw recently. Currently mobile technology isn't quite up to realizing this fantasy, but we'll sleep better tonight knowing that at least one of the cellphone industry's biggest names shares the same dream as we do -- BenQ's dream didn't count, unfortunately.

Speaking of KRZR K1, today's show saw the announcement of its successor - the spanking new Motorola KRZR K3. The updates to the KRZR vary from small such as the addition of stereo Bluetooth or increased internal memory size to substantial - the KRZR K3 has not only 3G support with video calls but it also is HSDPA-enabled. The MOTOKRZR K3 is expected to be available in Q1 2007.
