From what I can find, D-Link DWL-G122 (http://www.dlink.com.au/Products.aspx?Sec=1&Sub1=11&Sub2=19&PID=185) is not a Wireless router, it is just a Wireless USB adapter. However, you can configure it to act like a wireless access point. Are you sure you made an ad-hoc wireless network with internet sharing properly?

If you are not sure, then follow these instructions:

Windows XP (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_02april08.mspx)
Windows Vista (http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/0e158c21-4c70-4235-879d-0c9133218e561033.mspx)

If everything is properly setup then try setting a static IP in the phone. Read this thread to see how (http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?t=56050).

Thanks for the info man.But I figured out the problem.I had done it correctly but the problem was I have the bluetooth dongle which also acts like a modem and it was using the same IP address as the dlink dwl g122.So after I disabled it,it worked. Now I can have unlimited internet in my phone.

Good to hear that you managed to fix it. Yeah its pretty cool to have internet over Wi-Fi  . I use it a lot, especially with Fring (Skype).
