Windows Desktop Search

Windows Desktop Search (WDS) will help you find virtually anything on your computer or your networked drives including e-mail messages, documents, calendar appointments and more.

Searching your computer is now as fast and easy as searching the Web. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

You have to index the files. It will take sometime for it to actually index everything.

No, not everyday. It will run when the PC is idle. For the first time, when you search something it might not find all, because it is still building the index.

Yeah! First I gave a file name but it came without any answer. I thought this was not workin. But few minutes later it gave the file.
Thanks Anusha.

I don't think so.
I mean, there are indexed vs. non-indexed searches in XP and Vista.

Vista doesn't require it, because it already has it!
