LTTE lunches a mortar attack at VIP air movement- Batticaloa

LTTE terrorists launched a mortar attack targeting VIP air movement carrying Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe along with few foreign diplomats around 9 this morning. Defense sources said that the mortars were launched as the helicopter landed at a stadium in the Batticaloa town.

Sources further confirmed that Minister suffered no injuries in the attack. However, few people are reported to have suffered injuries. Further information will follow.
