GNS, There is a difference between 64bit supported and Native 64bit.
More than half of the software you've mentioned are only 64bit compatible. They are not native 64bit.

What about games:
UT2004 has a 64bit patch, but it didn't work on Vista x64 :(
FarCry has a 64bit patch, rather huge, so didn't test it yet

Well, it might not get difficult, unless the developers omitted certain algorithms as they were too CPU intensive under 32bit. It will sure get faster, on a game which uses complex maths such as chess. (I guess :D)

These are considered native:
* Dreadnought
* Far Cry
* Half-Life 2 (Automatically retrieved through Steam)
* Unreal Tournament 2004
The main exe is 64bit. In FarCry, there is no noticeable speed increase, but they have improved the texture quality without dropping the performance, which is in fact a performance enhancement.
Almost all the other games will run in Windows x64 environment in WOW64 mode. They are compatible, but doesn't run natively in 64bit. All the games I have installed right now are compatible with Vista x64. :)

Because it uses a new 64bit launcher + a 64bit dll and another exe.
