Can't enter registry editor. when i
1.start - run
2.regedit
even though i am the administrator (logged as admin)
it says!
"registry editing has been disabled by your administrator"

See if this works:
1. Start > Run.
2. %windir%\system32\gpeditmsc
3. Navigate to: User Config\Admin Templates\system\Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools
4. Change to > Not Configured

"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\gpeditmsc' Make sure you typed the name correctly (HEY I TYPED IT CORRECTLY!):rolleyes:

if da gpedit.msc thingy doesn't work try bringin up windows task manager if u cant , its a virus!..may b ur folder options menu item would b hidden too; srry dude u'll hav to format

Or maybe he can make a virus recovery CD from a friend (of a supported antivirus), boot from it and clean it. I don't know how successful this is, but it might work.

before going for a solution like formatting try this tool.
