Hi,

Has anyone here had chicken pox when they are adults. Did the doctor give u any medicine. I am 28 and i think i have chicken pox. Is it painful?

There's a drug called Acyclovir-it has to be taken within 72 hours from the first bubble.
Adults can get complications therefore they are usually given this drug. Children usually don't get complications.
See a physician as soon as possible.

Went to see the GP. It will be over after 7 days Asked me to rest well. Can eat anything. Can have bath as well. But i think in SL, its not recommended to eat meat.

If u do did not take with medicine, u can get up with bed sheet in morning which is sticked your ruptured bubbles. Then removing bed sheet from your body is really painful. It was one my most painful experiences.

If you have Cikpox, immediately you observed it before start spreading blisters every where, you have to take medicine and can be controlled.
If already spread cant help.

but ma bro hu s 21yearz had it 4 d last couple of weeekz
so yaa may b adults get it too

Adults can get it too, I know people who had it even in their late 30s.. I've heard that there is some medication you can take even after getting infected to make things easier; But you have to do it immediately, otherwise it won't make a difference. Ask a doctor

For those who have not got chicken pox, there is a vaccine (Varivax or similar name). Not supposed to be 100% perfect, but if you did not get chicken pox when you were a kid, better take care. Chicken pox in adults can be more complicated than in kids. I have got the vaccine many years ago. But dunno how long it is effective or whether it is reccomended now. At that time (arround year 2000) it was mentioned as effective for about 10 years.

For those who get chicken pox, there is a tablet (I forget the name of the tablet), that will reduce the scars and ill effects, but as someone mentioned in a previous post, have to take it soon. A relation of mine took it and there were hardly any scars.

Please check with your doctor.
