I was just kidding.. well any non smartphone is technically a dumb phone right ? but i-phone is actually a smart phone, but for me its kinda dumb (because it comes with so many restrictions, not that different from a normal phone), then I can’t stand the hype and fanboysm surrounding it either...

No, it wouldn't have made any difference. Most Nokia phones sold in the Asian region ar imported from China. I got my 5800 from softlogic, but still its a Chinese made phone.

Couple of months back when I was in Singapre I checked phones at Sim Lim Square (a very famous place for mobile phones), most places had the same Chinese made 5800; when I asked they said all Asian countries mostly get Chinese made phones. That makes sence right ? why ship all the way from europe when you can ship it from china. But they said they sometimes (but rarely) get a couple of finish made batches, and then there are some phone models that are exclusively made in Europe...

the Iphone 3GS is a joke.. just a speed improvement and a cam that can barely compare with the 5800 cam...
the N97 on the other hand is awesome.. ive updated to the latest firmware and everythin is running realy well.. the touch UI is very responsive much more so than the 5800 and the display quality is amazing.. i converted some music videos to mp4 format and played them on the phone.. the picture is crystal clear ... sound quality is awesome and a week of using the phone has made it very very easy to use.. no probs at all .. btw theres a tonne of applications on the ovi store also..
and for those interested the GPS is soooo fast.. u can get ur location in coordinates within 5 seconds . and if u use google maps or nokia maps u get the location with map display..
overall FRIGGIN AWESOME!
