When u right click My Computer and when u press Properties, under "Registered to" it shows your name ( It should). But sometimes when u buy a new computer and ask the company to assemble it and install the operating system it, under "Registered to" it usually displays the name of the company or sometimes "user". So "User " is not your name ryt??? :confused:
So here's how to change it!!
1. Make sure you have administrator Privileges before u continue or else u might not be able to continue to the next step or u might get stuck in another step. So plz 2ble check. N plz make sure you backup your Registry before u do this incase you mess up! ( File>>> Export >>> Export Range=All)
2. Goto Start >>> Run. N type "regedit" (Without the "")
3. Then in the next window, u will see a windows simliar to Windows Explorer.
4. Then double click as i say
*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
*SOFTWARE
*Windows NT
*CurrentVersion
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Then to your right, u will see lots of thing like CSD Version, Current Build etc etc etc.
Double click "RegisteredUser" or "RegisteredOragnization" & change as you wish... :cool:
Always Keep a Backup.
P.S. :- Plz dont alter other stuff unless you know what ya doing!!! Coz changing the wrong setting can result in heavy system instability!! :growl: :growl:
