How to Spell a Number in MS Excel

Today’s computer users preference in using MS-Excel is undoubtedly very high; specially users in financial/accounting field. They use MS-Excel to produce financial statements, invoices, etc endless documents. As a practice accounting professionals need printing important amounts in a work-sheet in text form – a number spelled-out in word.

Couples of years back one of my ex-colleague (an expert in Excel) seek helps on this task. Unfortunately to convert a number into text no built in function available in MS-Excel. However the requirement is handled through a custom function.

I would like to share this tips.

Of course sample script available in Microsoft site, I do not deny it. That’s the reason I mentioned in doc I provided, for your info it is quoted here:

…Excel does not have built-in function to spell-out number in word, i.e. like check-writing. To assist a desperate colleague few years ago; my web hunting gave a help! Microsoft had published a sample script for the purpose, that has been modified to meet own requirement….
