AES Removing Tool v0.95

The software developing team for Airport Enhancement Service (AES) unfortunately oversaw a pesky bug in the software deinstalling routine. I became aware of it, when I removed AES from my harddisk some time ago to do a clean installation of my Flight Simulator.

After reinstalling, AES somehow showed all the settings, that I made the other time. So evidently there were some residuals on my harddisk, that shouldn't be there. In other words: The uninstaller didn't do, what it was supposed to do - to remove the program entirely!

I did a little search, found the rediduals and programmed this little tool, that REALLY does the job.

Guys I need your help, twice I have downloaded Tongass fjords X, one a rip and one with an installer yet still I cannot get the water to show, when I read there website it says to use the repair option in the start menu but I don't have this or its not showing, so does anyone know where I can get a genuine Tongass X installer plus serial or just one that works because its really really good and really frame freindly! The previous 2 were dwnloaded from TPB but I've had no luck, any help much appreciated!


With regard to Eagle420, I'm sure he has done us a great service and I thank him very much for this, however us elakiri users and all us sharers must know we must pull together and make do with what we've got, at the end of the day guys were getting stuff for free and thats why we do it!

Javelin.....I had the same problem with Tongass X using a rip. Forum instructions about repair option should be from the installer (it should be in start options after the installer completes) and repairs the fsx.cfg file. There is also a manual fix on the Tongass forum but this did not work for me.

Would appreciate a PM with a link for the installer version as I would like to give it a try as it looked great (except for the lack of water).

It seems there is a couple .bgl files missing though:
Some runways have incorrect elevation and I found on a forum references to bgl files correcting this issue:


* presence of our airport elevation adjustments: in \Scenery\World\scenery you should have seven AF2_xxxx_elevation_adjustment.BGL files, all dated 5/23/2006, including AF2_PAKW_elevation_adjustment.BGL, AF2_PAPG_elevation_adjustment.BGL, and AF2_PAFE_elevation_adjustment.BGL

Unfortunately those fixes did not work for me and I still have no water, I'm sure its down to the lack of an entry into the fsx.cfg file, can anyone upload the correct entry for this file?

- Unpack the files included in AF2.rar in Scenery/World/scenery (runways elevation corrections)

- Modify the terrain.cfg file (root of your FSX install):
- In the [general] section of the file, add 40 to the DefaultTextureCount
For Example:
Change: DefaultTextureCount=467 to: DefaultTextureCount=507
- Copy the content of the file terrain-cfg_add.txt at the end of your
Terrain.cfg
- You must then modify the [Texture.xxx] xxx number of each new entry to the
correct number:
For example if your ORIGINAL DefaultTextureCount was 467, the first
[Texture.xxx] should be changed to [Texture.467], the next one [Texture.468],
and so on for the 40 new entries.

That did it for me, hope it helps

Didn't see any traffic on the seaplane bases though, don't know if it's normal...
Did anyone see any DHC-2 beavers or DHC-3 Otters floating around?

Exploring the traffic files shows that there are package specific AI aircraft and boats which aren't in either version. Also the cache folder contains package specific saved flights. I hope someone has the missing AI....

Well, as usual, Eagle420 delivers.

(You need jDownloader to download the content of a .dlc file, which is in fact an encrypted text file wich contains a list of Rapidshare links)

It now works perfectly, no manual editing of files. The repair tool will surely be useful if you need to tamper with your terrain.cfg later.
Ai traffic is now fully functional

The current Jepp cycle is 0921 (comes out twice a month) and is for Jeppesen products only.

The current Navigraph Airac is 0911 (Oct/Nov) and is for the FMCs on various aircraft.

Two different products. Navigraph Airac 0911 is available, I haven't seen the Jeppesen 0921 yet (but I haven't been looking that hard as I don't use Jeppesen products).

(Just spotted you thanking F2TH for the Airacs - so assume it's the Jepp 0921s that you need?).

Grommit, yes it is JeppView Cycle 21-09 that I was looking for, for FSFM which I still use for IFR prop planning. I spent a bit of time making accurate aircraft performance profiles in it so once you plug in weather its pretty good for picking optimum altitudes for fuel and times, and I use it for weight and balance, then I create an identical flightplan in FSC8 which is great for props, jets/FMC's are a different story. I posted 0911 accidently same as the Airac.

The software developing team for Airport Enhancement Service (AES) unfortunately oversaw a pesky bug in the software deinstalling routine. I became aware of it, when I removed AES from my harddisk some time ago to do a clean installation of my Flight Simulator.

After reinstalling, AES somehow showed all the settings, that I made the other time. So evidently there were some residuals on my harddisk, that shouldn't be there. In other words: The uninstaller didn't do, what it was supposed to do - to remove the program entirely!

I did a little search, found the rediduals and programmed this little tool, that REALLY does the job.

The Cancún Int'l Airport has a new terminal, used for international flights, mainly to the US. The terminal has been active for a while now, but not only that, there is also a 95 metres tall control tower, which enables the controllers to have a 360º view and will be able to see the whole airport, including Runway 12 Left / 30 Right, innaugurated just a few days ago. The scenery also features the overhead taxiway, which runs over the road that leads to the airport that will surelly lead to some stunning photographs both in flight simulator and in real life.

Why do you think that some of us have been PMing links for the past few weeks?

Just be careful who you send them to. For example, if the requester starts with china and ends with airlines, or writes like a two-year-old girl on crack, then don't send them the link.

The links I've sent out this way are still active, so it works. Either that or we put them on a torrent site?

Of course it works. I've added weblinks into the linkcrypt-folder now, too. Just have a look, now you can download it part by part without using the DLC... but once again, everything is online and works fine. If you're not able to download via my DLC it's not because it's not working, must be your fault then.:eek:

I would like to propose a new, permanent thread for FSX add-ons that is free of drama, detractors, personal conflicts, etc., and serves a single purpose of sharing for users of all kinds. More and more, I'm seeing Flightsim warez sites disappear, fall apart, and the entire community seeming to wane in both quality and quantity of late.

I'm not interested in forming a group of select few 'elite' users or VIP areas like WOS, but rather someplace where the average enthusiast can go to find something he or she might not be able to afford on their own and thus enjoy our fun simulating hobby to the fullest extent. Someplace laid back, easy-going, with helpful participants and a sense of brotherhood so to speak.

I personally have a lot of great stuff to share, along with some cracking skillz of my own, and I'm happy to make everything available for others to enjoy. I would just like to revitalize the Flightsim warez scene and bring it out of the apparent current slump. It used to be so much fun, and I'm convinced it can be again with the right frame of mind and participation!
